The material of the light rail sealant strip needs to meet the requirements of weather resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, elasticity, etc. Common materials include:
Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM):
Advantages: weather aging resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, chemical resistance, wide temperature range (-40 ℃ to+300 ℃), long-term use will not crack or deform.
Application: It accounts for over 80% of the materials used in rail transit sealing strips and is the mainstream choice.
silica gel:
Advantages: Excellent high and low temperature resistance, environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
Application: Suitable for special environments with extremely high temperature requirements.
PVC rubber:
Advantages: Low cost, but poor aging resistance and elasticity.
Application: Mostly used in scenarios where performance requirements are not high.
